TNL begins meeting weekly at the Gothic Theatre beginning Tuesday, December 6.
Answers to some general questions about moving TNL from the Core Pastors and Elders of TNL Church:
Why are we moving TNL?
We are following God’s call and leading for TNL to move to a new location. It is after two years of prayer, a year of developing relationships, and several months of discerning the future direction of TNL that we are moving TNL. Moving TNL allows us to be strategically located in a neighborhood that is located central to both city and suburb communities. The Gothic Theatre is an iconic Colorado venue that is well known, attractive, and accessible for TNL to pursue the mission of Tuesday nights in connecting and re-connecting people to God and His Church.
The space is a more accurate portrayal of who we are: the sounds of our music, the relational style of our teaching, the relaxed environment of our community, and the culturally engaged aspect of our mission.
We move TNL with the full support of Greenwood Community Church. The pastors and staff at GCC are excited for the future of TNL and fully agree with the direction of relocating our Tuesday service.
How will we support the cost increase of moving TNL?
The cost increase of moving TNL could be supported if every person who attends TNL would give an additional $10 per month. A shared sacrifice and collective contribution by the TNL community will support the operating cost increase.
Where will the children’s program for TNL be located?
TNL Kids, the TNL children’s program on Tuesday nights, will be located at Acoma. We are remodeling 1/3 of the facility to create a safe and exciting children’s space. There will be dedicated rooms for Infants, Crawlers, and Toddlers at Acoma. The Kindergarten – Grade 5 program will meet in the main meeting room at Acoma for a TNL Kids church and grade specific breakout groups. There will be separate check in areas for Infant – Pre Kindergarten and Grade School ages.
There will be a dedicated back entrance at the Gothic Theatre for parents and families located less than 30 yards from Acoma. There are plans for a live feed from the Gothic Theatre on Tuesday nights for a Parent Lounge parents who choose to stay with their children at Acoma.
Where will the youth program for TNL be located?
TNL Youth, the TNL program for Middle School and High School students, will have a designated meeting area at the Gothic Theatre for the first 30 minutes of the service. They will walk down to Acoma for a weekly discussion group for the next 30-40 minutes with the TNL Youth Director.
What will TNL do on a Tuesday when there is a show at the Gothic Theatre?
There will most likely be 3-4 times a year where the Gothic Theatre schedules a show on a Tuesday night. We have planned to have TNL meet at Acoma on those nights for two services in a more intimate setting. The first service would be 6:30-7:30pm specifically designed to incorporate kids ages K-5. TNL Kids for Nursery through Pre-Kindergarten would still be fully staffed and operating. The second service would be from 8:00 – 9:00pm without children’s programs. Each service at Acoma would provide a more conversational setting and an opportunity to connect with others at TNL by having everyone at Acoma.
Where will people park for TNL?
There are several parking areas available on Tuesday nights. The parking lot at Acoma will be designated parking for TNL Kids parents and families. There is general parking available at the parking lot at the Gothic Theatre, Starbucks & Café 180, the city lot on the 3400 block of South Broadway, and street parking where noted. TNL is working with other local businesses to provide close parking near Acoma and the Gothic.
What are ways the new location of TNL will encourage connecting with others?
TNL will host a monthly community dinner at Café 180, the local pay-what-you-can community café located one block from Acoma and the Gothic Theatre. There are several restaurants located within a few blocks to meet people before TNL for dinner or go after for food and drinks. TNL will host a monthly event on Tuesdays after TNL at Acoma to help connect those who are new to TNL.
