Royal Family KIDS, Inc. (a non-profit organization head-quartered in Orange County, CA) exists to partner with local churches to help abused, neglected, and abandoned children, ages 7-11, create positive, lasting memories. The first Royal Family Kids Camp was started in the 1980’s serving a few dozen children. By 2014, there were 176 camps in the U.S. and 21 international camps caring for over 7,300 children! The long term vision of Royal Family KIDS is to serve 100,000 foster children annually by the year 2030. We partner with Royal Family KIDS to help fulfill this vision and goal.

ABOUT THE KIDS

Each year more than 10,000 confirmed cases of child abuse occur in Colorado. Almost 12,000 children spend some portion of their year in foster care due to abuse or neglect in their home. Most of this abuse or neglect occurred at the hands of the children’s parents or other caregivers. This abuse includes, but is not limited to, sexual abuse, physical abuse, malnourishment, and neglect. Most of these children cannot fathom that there are people who could love and care for them, let alone a God who loves them deeply. Many can’t imagine, in their wildest dreams, of a place where they can have fun, be protected and safe, and just get to be a kid again. And that’s what camp is all about!

We believe that God cares deeply for these children. James 1:27 says, “Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress,” and in Matthew 25, Jesus says, “Whatever you do for the littlest and least of these, my brothers and sisters, you also do for me.”  TNL hosts RKFC:Denver each summer believing that caring for these children in Denver is a beautiful expression of God’s love for the kids, and our worship and love of God.

ABOUT THE CAMP

In order to make camp a reality each year, we need about 35 adult volunteers to give a week of their time and energy to care for 24 kids.  For many in our community, RFKC has been a life-changing experience.

Royal Family KIDS Camp is, for many children, the first time they are shown positive attention and affection by an entire community of people. The week of camp is a tangible expression of God’s love for them as every child connects to counselors and staff solely focused on maximizing their fun. It is a week that changes the lives of both the kids and the adults. Dates for counselors/staff for 2017.

RFKC:Denver is sponsored by TNL along with the partnership of other local churches, individuals, and organizations. Together we have helped create positive memories for children in Denver Metro area for 14 years.
