NEWS & NOTES:
09/01/08 Anesthesia CD Release
TNL is proud to announce the debut project release of Anesthesia, “Wake Up.” It will be available for purchase on iTunes and at the information table on September 9th. The band will also be debuting the title track from the album that night at TNL. This project is rather unique in that it is entirely instrumental and follows in the footsteps of post-rock groups The Album Leaf, Sigur Ros, and Explosions in the Sky in its musical and creative exploration. Completely written, inspired, performed and produced by individuals in the community, we couldn't be more excited and supportive of what we believe is an appropriate creative response to what God has been up to at TNL. More information will also be available at www.anesthesiaproject.com. (JsM)
07/03/07: New Set-up Time (For Now) 2:00 at GCC
Per the conversion we had last week, let's move our start time back another half hour to 2:00 at GCC. We agreed that we would try it out and see if we feel comfortable leaving it there. So until further notice, see you at GCC at 2:00. (JsM)
07/23/07: Red Room conversion to Practice/Studio Space
04/17/08: Basically, the Red Room is ready for creative artists to make use of its tools. We will schedule a basic tutorial of the hardware and software soon. If you are interested in booking time in the studio, just let me know and we'll get it scheduled. (JsM)
11/13/07: We have all the PC components in now. I hope to put that PC together with Masters soon. We also have upgrades for several pieces of software: SONY Vegas 8.0, SONY Sound Forge 9.0, Reason 4.0, (ACID Pro 6.0). Once the PC is up and running, we will have a basic training session on how the system is setup and it's in your hands at that point... I'm still not opposed to having your software installed on our PC if it will make things more familiar or convenient. If you are authorized and still need a key and code, contact Dave.
06/26/07: James, Jackie and I spoke last week and agreed that it would be a benefit to the community of musicians in the band and at TNL to rearrange the Red Room (The Worship and Production Office) for the purpose of opening it up for a practice room and small project recording studio. While it won't be a dramatic change, there will be a simple set of tools available to those who would like to book time for practicing their instrument or sketching a draft of an original song, etc. I haven't decided if we are going to keep using our SONY software product line or get into an M-Powered setup (seeing as we already have interfaces that support it (M-Audio Firewire Audiophile and the Ozonic). More to come on that. We'll have the Johnson Guitar Amp, the Carvin bass rig, the and Kurzweil SP88 set up full-time. We'll also get a copy of Reason and ACID on the PC (which will undergo a substantial update/upgrade, financials permitting...). I know James, Rob, Daniel, (Alyssa) and Billy have expressed interest in the space. Let me know if there are any others. I'll develop a scheduling process as we get closer. I hope to have the main pieces rearranged within the next two weeks. (JsM)
